George appears to be the eldest born December 24 1797. There has to have been a child before this.

Going back for a moment, to the unbaptised child of Joseph Jardine, it doesn't mention Hayhill as with the Samuel. So, it may not have been your Joseph :-\

The other thing is. Where did I get the John son of Joseph and Janet - Milbank 4 December 1795 from and, where is Milbank. It was Milkbank where Thomas and Janet Linton were.

Not sure, but we visited Milkbank out St Mungo way and took pics.

It's too late and I'm to medicated to even try to recall these things. Will have to wait until the morrow.

Pretty sure we found Milkside and Milkbank One on the water and one off a dirt road.

Jamjar,

One more possible for Joseph’s parents.

Found these burials in Applegarth cemetery. I believe  Belzies is in Lockerbie.

146
In memory of John Jardine who died at Belzies November 18th, 1820 aged 77. Also Jannet Johnston his spouse who died February 4th, 1824 aged 79. Here lyes Jannet Richardson spouse to Joseph Jarden who died April 30th, 1775 aged 60 years.

The John Jardine( 77) would  have been  born  1743 and married say around 1763.
Jannet Johnston  (79)  would have been  born  1745.
The other two, Jannet Richardson and Joseph Jarden may have been John’s parents.

What made me think there might be a connection is the name Johnston. Your Joseph in 1791, was living at Hayhill with Johnstones who may or may not be related to the Jannet Johnstone.

Yes a possible. Good find.

Keep in mind that those other Joseph and Janet births, without a surname for Janet, we're at Applegarth.

Now how to we prove the connection?

We went to the Applegarth cemetery to take photos of a headstone. We had to clear all the vines off it. Will check to see whose it was, later, when I boot the PC.

Yes, it's just a possible and don't know how to make the connection.

I was just thinking about the headstone with all the vine, the other day. Forgot it was Applegarth.
