Had a quick look at nsw bdm.  Edith C Fawcett dtr John and Jane dies at Ashfield 5670/1920.  That could be Edith Constance!   Really have to go.  J

Yes my mistake if he died in 1908 he would not have been with her in 1909. :-[

In 1911 Edith Jnr would have been at work "Somewhere" and possibly not living at home. Being a companion to an Elderly spinster would fit, but why the name change. In the BDM record it has her name as Edith F J not F I could that be just a transcription error?

The Edith that passed away 1921 was her mother?

Transcription error, yes. Edith Flora Irene FAWCETT born 1897 to Edith JAMES or CLARK and Joseph FAWCETT.  They married afterwards in 1898.  Named Edith presumably after her mother, Flora - possibly named after the house she was born in at McDonaldtown/Erskineville "Flora Cottage" - no idea about the Irene.  Edith FAWCETT who died 1921 was her mother.  The origins of the mother, Edith JAMES or CLARK, are a bit of a mystery. That's another long story. I'm hoping to get some clues from the transcriptions I have ordered of three of her other children.   Jennifer
