Looking through a book on the Sussex Weald this afternoon I found a photo of a man called Mr. Orange Lemmon.  He was born abt 1856 in Ninfield Sussex.  Maybe Gwyneth Paltrow took her inspiration from him when calling her daughter Apple.  I can't think of another example of a commonly used name that is a fruit, or vegetable come to that!
Researching
Phillips/ Derbidge in Hampshire
Golding/ Baldock in Sussex and Kent
Farmer/ Mills/ Cheney/ Bridger in Southwark and Bermondsey.
Richardson/ Gorringe/ Brush wherever they may be.

I recently found a John BYTHEWAY.

Can you imagine the kookie looks you'd get by saying: "My name is John, by the way..."  ;D

Don't mind me. I'm a just a frazzled out Canuck looking for a smile eh?

My great great grandmother was called Mercy Onions. This tickles me. Then I found my great great grandmother Mary Beebee.

I don't know if these names are actually funny, or I'm just wrong in the head, but they make me laugh!
