can anybody please tell me what area 11 georges st dublin came under in the late 1930s and 1940s please.i have tried googling it but it brings up a manor house and a club.

There's two George's Streets in Dublin City - North Great Georges St. off Parnell Street, and South Great George's St. which goes south from Dame St.

Arran and Merchant quays are opposite side of the Liffey ...

A number of Dublin Streets have two separate versions, a 'North' in the North City, and a 'South' to the south of the Liffey.

What's the source of the George's Street address ?.. e.g. a cert, census return ...

I presume that should be the Dublin City Voter's register ..

The district should tell you the area and Electoral District, and I'd say there's a North or South included somewhere on the page also. Check the top of the register page....
