quite a list of people living there at the time (19), so probably a tenement at that stage. No way to tell for certain from the listing how the building was subdivided.

William & Margaret Murtagh. Just one Byrne - an Edward, who looks like he may be living with a couple with the surname Kelehan. These are the other surnames mentioned for the building :

Fitzgerald, Coleman, Walsh, Nicholson, Brennan & Kelehan

That website I mentioned for 11 North Gt Georges Street mentions that it was converted to tenements.

From the website:

In 1910 a Mr. Kelly bought the house and turned it into a tenement, which was the increasing trend in a city becoming rapidly impoverished. Unlike many houses, the landlord at № 11 lived on the premises and so the house survived many of the ravages that other houses suffered at this time. Between the 1930's and 1970's every room in the house was used as a family flat.

nice to know the house your ancestors lived in is being preserved - and has it's own website. Not many people can say that!

Any info on 15 George’s St , Dublin 2, possible ancestor , GGDad , of my mom is Christopher Russell, noticed a Russell St right beside 15 George’s St, his address listed in  wedding docs from St Andrews Westland Row, also close by! Mom and bro born in Dublin are from Pearse Sq. Dad met mom serving his time as a bricklayer, a Bolton St Boy!, not a borstal boy, best Behan book by the way!
Any info appreciated, my moms mom was a Boyne!!
Thanks
