1901 - 3 entries - one born Belgium

:) Hi CaroleW, wish i had more on Jane Pirtle, just the fact she married or had a child to Michael Murphy
called Maragret Murphy born 1861, either in Middlesbrough or Dublin as my late mother always used to say about my maternal great grandmother Margaret Murphy McIntosh.
Only recently learned Margaret's mother 's name.
All the best Derek :) :D ;)

:) Hi Daisypetal, no just found out my maternal great grandmothers parents a couple of days ago, nothing on them at all, they are named by my maternal great grandmother when she went into a nursing home { catholic } 1944, my maternal great grandmother was married in Middlesbrough at St Marys 1881, her father is named Michael Murphy, mothers name not mentioned, so information you have kindly posted could be them but i have no way of knowing as yet, but thanks kindly for looking, all the best Derek :) :D ;)

:) Hi Heywood, i was thinking that name is familiar, not used that user name for some time now, as you know thier was a question mark after Pirtle? i was recently told by my sister that when Margaret became a redident in the Sisters of the Poor she was a little senile so perhaps the Pirtle was miss understood, its a thought, would be nice to find Margaret's parents on a census, fingers crossed, thanks
all, be in touch with you Heywood ;)
All the best to all :) :D ;) Derek

I have done a lot of searches of my maiden name that was Pertle. Naturally, I ran into Pirtle. I worked each Pirtle name backwards in time and they all went back to "Birkle", German immigrants to America in the early 1700's

Welcome to Rootschat  :)

This Jane may not be Irish (although other family members were) and Purtill variations are found there.
