Personal item from WW2
« on: Friday 20 April 12 15:04 BST (UK) »
Some years ago whilst exploring the site of a Second War military installation in East Kent, I came across an old spoon stamped with a service number and Regiment [1st Sussex]. It is of no intrinsic value but I wonder if it is somehow possible, from just the number, to trace its original owner to whose family, could they be found, I would willingly donate it?? Any ideas please?

Many thanks
Tony

Not quite so easy in WW2.
Can you give us the number?

Regimental Museum may well be able to give you a name.
Whoever he is, the combination of number/regiment gives no matches on CWGC so he survived the war.
