Navy Memorials and Plaques at Pier Head Liverpool
« on: Sunday 22 April 12 19:53 BST (UK) »
I have been at the Pier Head, Liverpool today,  and there are quite a collection of plaques in remembrance to  mostly Merchant Navy casualties but also to Allied Merchant Navy men from Norway, Belgium, China etc.

One newish one brought a tear to my eye,  as it was referring to the ships which brought back men who had been Japanese prisoners.   Interestingly IIRC  many of the ships which brought them back  were the same ships which had taken them out there three years previously.

The plaque named about twelve or 14 ships names.
