Spooky - birthdays skipping a generation
« on: Thursday 19 May 05 09:39 BST (UK) »
Hi,
anybody else got this strange phenomena going on ?  It is probably a wacky coincidence but on my Bearman line I share my birthday with my grandad and my great great grandad.
Skipping the generation in between.

Frederick William Bearman, 4th April 1859
His grandson - Arthur Stanley Bearman 4th April 1911
me his great great granddaughter Suzanne 4th April, 1962

Unfortunately I haven't got back another two generations before Fred W to see if this pattern continues.

My elder daughter was born on my birthday (27th May)
My wife has two brothers with the same birthday, they were born 6 years appart
My younger daughter has the same birthday (13th November) as her cousin, the son of one of the two brothers above.

Can't match your 3 generations but I was once told that you only need about 7 people in a room to have more than a 50% probability of two of them sharing the same birthday 8)
