Also 1871 Census entry

Frances Wife M 33 Cottingham
Sarah Ann Daur 12 Cottingham

Hi Sandy

Just had a cursory look at all your info but think you may have solved it if the name Henry was an error.

Children I had placed on my tree for Edward & Dinah:

Mary bn abt 1802 Brixworth br 14.2.1887 (84) Stoke (not sure about the burial as there is a married Mary Foster ,widow floating about but in 1851 she was unmarried & at home.

John bn abt 1805 Brixworth br 14.7.1822 (17) Stoke Albany

George bn abt 1807 Brixworth br 5.2.1894 Stoke Albany (mason)

William (mine bn abt 1810 Brixworth br 10.8.1860 aged 50 Stoke Albany (mason)

When I said I didn't have a James I was looking higher up on the tree & didn't notice I did have an illigitimate James born to an Elizabeth.

I had Elizabeth down as another possible daughter of Edward & Dinah (bp place unknown)

Also another possibility was Robert (bp place unknown) as he & wife Elizabeth had a George c 10.10.1830 at Stoke Albany

Lastly there was Sarah c 4.5.1819 at Stoke Albany the only one with a baptism date.

If James was Henry than I think everything fits & Dinah would have been named after her grandmother. He was also a mason so obviously followed the family occupation!

George Foster's daughter Sarah married a William Ingram so Thomas Ingram, witness may be a relative.

Will print everything off & study your info properly before I come to any real conclusions - all very, very interesting.

Can't thank you enough.

I couldn't resist a quick look at the IGI for Emanuel Lee (the witness you found) before I switched off.

Found him c 12.12.1830 Wilbarston to William & Grace Lee  ;D
(grandparents of Dinah Foster!)

6 children all bp at Wilbarston including a Sarah Ann who died aged 3.

I then typed in Sarah Lee with parents William & Grace. It came up with Sarah Ann Lees c 29.9.1833 at Stoke Albany dau of William & Grace Lees.

Think we're closing the net  :)

Hi Criggy

I think you are but I wouldn't have said that James had a postive link till today.

Found some information that may prove the linkage to your Edward from Brixworth.

Will post tomorrow as really tired and after all these years hopefully another day will be okay.

Cheers Sandy

Hi Criggy ;D

I found a marriage of James Foster and Elizabeth Lee in the Sept Qtr of 1855 Mkt Harboro' District (Stoke would come under that) hence grand-daughter being with the Lee's on the 1861 Census.

The reason I was unsure of the linkage I confirmed by finding the death of Elizabeth aged 19 before 1861 and Edward also he stated he was the grand-father of James on the 1851 Census.

I do not have the information with me at the moment but will post later around about 10.00p.m as I am out tonight.

Cheers Sandy   :)
