I have just been in Newspapers Past and in 1878 there was a Martin Casey tendering for work at Spring Creek Road, Blenheim.  Our Martin Casey would have been still in the North Island so I guess the Martin Casey in Blenheim is another one.
Thanks again,

There are about five Martin Casey's, but their ages at death are no where near the birth date of your Martin Casey.  I stand to be corrected on that.

Wonder if there is a possibility they left the country?

Cheers

I have a Martin Casey in my tree born in Templemore in Tipperary in 1832. Sadly he passed in 1860, so he can't be the same man. Given the size of Templemore, I imagine there is likely a family relationship deeper in our shared family trees
