Lieutenant Thomas Lowther

In the early 1700's (about 1730) Lieutenant Thomas Lowther went from Lowtherstown (now Irvinestown) to Strabane, and married eventually a Miss Mathews.  Originally he was married to a Christina Robinson.

I am after any information on Thomas, especially if he can be linked to the original Sir Gerald Lowther of Lowtherstown. I would think there might be some military record but am unsure where to look for the period.
