Thomas and Elizabeth Heyes - 1911 census lookup please
« on: Monday 30 April 12 00:24 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am trying to work out if this couple are the parents of my Great-Grandmother ELIZABETH ANN HEYES whom all I know about is she was born in 1885 and her father was THOMAS HEYES a Day wageman in a coal mine.
ELIAZBETH ANN married in August 1911 in Prescot to ALBERT EDWARD JACKSON and her address appears from what I can make out to be Raglan Street. In April 1911 there is a Heyes family in Raglan Street but no Elizabeth Ann. I can make no connection between these two Heyes'

Taking a pure guess at her father's marriage I have found several in Prescot. This doesn't include the chance that the surname was spelt Hayes not Heyes on the marriage certifcate.

My best hope seems to lie with one marriage in 1877 between a THOMAS HEYES and either ELIZABETH WALKER or ELIZABETH HOLLAND.

This has three things going for it.

1. The name Elizabeth not once but twice, so likely the daughter was named after the mother. Elizabeth Ann did this with my Grandmother.

2. Just eight years before Elizabeth Ann was born

3. See below

The third reason is that on the 1911 census there is a ELIZABETH HEYES born 1852 and a THOMAS HEYES born 1859 who are married.
This Thomas Heyes has appeared before in my search for my great-grandmother's parents. He is the best fit as far as I can see when seaching purely for Thomas Heyes' old enough to be Elizabeth Ann's father.
Also his job includes the word 'COAL'

I may be grabbing at straws here not least because if this is all true then Thomas was scare 18 when he married.

Any other details from this couple's household would be a great help in ruling them in or out.

Thank You

Bodie
