I had seen that family in Monifieth early on in my search and dismissed it. I did look further afield than "near Glasgow", which is given as John Webster's place of birth on his death notice. These can be quite inaccurate. On John's son, James's death notice, it gives his place of birth as Scotland but he was born in London. I have a copy of his birth certificate.
I found out a bit about George Webster's military service through a researcher in London but no marriage or death information.
I have drawn a line under my research for this family as I have gone as far as I can and I got what I needed out of that but if you find out more I would love to know.
