Wilks in Whitchurch, Hereford

Looking for any Wilks connection in the Whitchurch area, last info I have found so far is a Hester Wilks, Mother of George Wilks from the 1881 census. Can anyone help me find more info on Hester, or her partner?

Thanks for everyones help, I now have Hester (or Esther) married to Thomas Wilks who died 21st March 1869.

Only trouble is, I am now at another brick wall. Anyone else have a Wilks from either the Whitchurch area or West Dean area in their tree?

The only other info I have extra now is that George Wilks married Caroline Lusty, and some christening dates on the names above.

Hi - I used to be a postman delivering mail at Welsh Newton which is above Whitchurch, there's a green lane and a few fields seperating the villages, and there were / are Wilks families living there now.  Cheers FRED

thanks, i was beginning to think that nobody existed in Whitchurch. You wouldnt happen to know what cemetarys are around that area would you? I get the feeling, thats my next port of call!

Charlotte Wilks christened 12th July 1842, Whitchurch

thanks fred, i didnt have a couple of those christening dates.  I just need to find out more about the elusive Thomas and Esther and I am away again! Dont you just hate the dead ends!
