If you got Thomas and Ann Selby from the 1841 census, I think that Ann is Thomas and Susannah's daughter and that the 8 year old Charles is Ann's son. There is an Ann Selby daughter of Thomas and Susannah born in 1791 and a Charles born in 1833 son of Ann Selby on the Family Search.
Also marriage of Thomas Selby and Susannah Rhodes  at St Peters Nottingham 2/10/1788.
and they appear to have had a large family.

So that Thomas (who married Susannah) would be the brother of Ann......The Parents at Lambley seem right as My Ann married at Lambley.
