Here he is on the Merchant Navy Seamen register 1835-1941
Name Christopher Pover
Date  of birth 5 June 1803
Place of birth Weymouth Dorsetshire

There is a Thomas Pover on there also but no details other than name and place of birth Weymouth

On the 1861 and 1871 censis and children's baptisms his wife's name is Arabella not Isabella.

On Familyserch.org there is a Thomas Pover b: 1805 in Melcombe-Regis, mother listed as Ann Pover. It also shows Christopher with his wife Arabella and a few of their children.
Can only find one record of the marriage of Christopher, but that is to an Issabella Hardy 8 Aug 1830 in Wyke Regis (not far from Melcombe Regis).

I think Isabella and Arabella are the same person, probably mistakenly written as Isabella at the marriage.

Baptised in Wyke Regis 2 April 1815 is  Arabella Elizabeth Hardy daughter of James and Hannah, of Weymouth mariner

Looks like Christopher and Arabella had a son called Thomas Christopher in 1845 so there is a tenuous connection to the name Thomas if nothing else!

The Thomas born in 1805 marries Elizabeth and is a coast guard in Kent in 1861.  Dies in Kent 1883.
