I do have a hunch that christopher and Thomas had the same father but different mothers ie Sarah and Ann

So were both mothers unmarried (sisters?) and they had the 3 children Christopher, Elizabeth and Thomas between them - what makes you think the boys had the same father? 

There seems to be 2 Elizabeth baptisms the other in 1803 parents John and Sarah. 
That one died aged 6 in 1809.  I suppose it's possible they had a second Elizabeth but John had also died before she was baptised :-\

i think sarah had an illegitimate child ie Elizabeth so guess only way is to see if there is any info on the parish relief .

Opc-dorset has several children born to John and Sarah Gover in Wyke Regis, but the original looks much more like Pover in 1797 (and is indexed as such on ancestry):

William Pover, son of John and Sarah Pover,  baptised in Wyke Regis in 1797.

The other entries are definitely Gover.
