John Annings, Chardleigh Green, Wadeford

I believe that John Annings was an old man in WW2 and living in a cottage in Chardleigh green, Wadeford.  The house is next to Hallfields House where he was a gardener.  Does anyone know anything about the man or the house.  It now bears his name but I cannot find anything else about him.

There is a GRO death registration for a John ANNING aged 81 in the 1st Quarter 1965  Chard Reg'n District  Vol 7c page 136.

Thanks all.  Chardleigh Green is in South Somerset so it is not inconceivable that he originally came from Chardstock as it is only 5 miles away.
