hi
It means that it probably was not in a Church of England. A Catholic Church wedding required a Registrar to attend. The same with Methodist, Baptist etc.

Marriage Index
MCKERVEY? Rosannam 1860 Married Gulielmum SANS at Manchester, St. Wilfrid, Hulme

William and Rosannas children were all baptised at St. Wilfreds RC Church, Hulme too.

Try using the soundex for McKervey and McKerney and first name Ros and just search for Sands when looking for William as he is sometimes Gulielmi etc.  You can leave everything else blank if you want to.

Gosh Mo, I never thought of looking for Latin entries as late as the 1800s.  I thought they had been abandoned by then.  Perhaps Rosanna was a Catholic and William agreed to marry her in her church...
