Oh, Dear, R.K. my head wasn't on tightly again  ;D I was looking into the U.S and then got onto the wrong generation :P

This site has death dates for James Samuel Hoare Wakelen and "Florrie"  but no info in between
http://www.badove.supanet.com/d0008/g0000062.html A couple of his brothers also came to Canada and they are signed up for WW1 but he was not...that I can find ( seems several vowels are interchangeable for this name)
The name can only be found in B.C / Victoria under the spelling Wakelyen
 http://www.canada411.ca/search/?stype=si&what=Wakelyen&where=&x=30&y=11
You could ask for the death details to see who signed off on it...or maybe be lucky enough to find an obit...
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FL1B-498
and they are the only 2 of that surname buried in Royal Oak Burial Park cemetery http://bccfa.islandnet.com/bccfa-search.php

IF the above is the correct match, then a sister Edith predeceased James.
Could that be Edith Lillian Wakelen born 22 June 1917 Victoria. British Columbia. Married Walter Say 1947 British Columbia and died 23 Feb 2000 British Columbia according to an IGI record.  ???

ah, if they had 2 gals and one son who had no children, that would explain the name no longer in B.C.
The obit is great, Sandra...albeit no last names on the nephews for James' obit...I was going to look for them, but had to run...

But everybody, read this   http://www.bcscc.ca/cadborosaurus.htm
