Hi Pam
Just read your article on posting new topics instead of replying over the same one again. You may have missed this or as I expect some what busy, but here it is again.

Have some info on Johns parents. F. Andrew Percie (i know the spellings seem to change quite often) of mouswald occ ploughman and m. Mary Creighton. Mary died in 1847 aged about 43 poss 45 (blurred old picture) at carruthers parish ....... unreadable. any of this tie in with your 1841 census?

Cheers

Kev  :)

Hiya,

Soooo sooorrryyy  :-[

It is very easy to miss second questions I'm very sorry.

It was Annan wasn't it  ???

Reet.

Okay.

Annan ED:5 P:10
English St

Douglas 25 labourer
Helen 25
Andrew 4m

Annan ED:5 P:11
English St

PEARCY
Andrew 65 ag lab
Jane 55
Mary 20
Alexander 15 cotton spinner
Jessie 14 cotton yarn twister
Andrew 13 cotton spinner

I've done both families as they are on consecutive pages.  This is from a name index so doesn't include anyone in the same house with a different surname so you should maybe check the original film.

Hope it helps and my drunken state is not too obvious.
Pam

Hi Pam
No need for apologies, its you thats doing me the favors.
Thanks for the info but it doesn't seem to match this time. Can you suggest some resources where I might be able to track this family. I've tried LDS and Scotlands people but cant find any records to take me back past John Percy B 1827 mouswald.

p.s have you looked at the Mary Farish post lately ???

Cheers

Have you tried wills?

http://www.scottishdocuments.com/

Looks like the site is down at the moment, but it has an index to all pre-1900 wills.

I've found a few inventories for mine and they are quite good.

Lots of Dumfriesshire kirkyards have been transcribed so MI may be able to help.

It can be difficult tracking these down - some of mine who lived and died in Annan ended up buried in Cummertrees or Dornock.

Other than that it is trawlling through the films of old parish records.  Thouh I've never found any that aren't on Scotland's people.

I've not been doing my tree that long so I don't know if I know all the sources yet?

Hope this helps a wee bit,
Pam
