Watsons of Anywhere - Help please! Argh!
« on: Friday 20 May 05 22:22 BST (UK) »
A conundrum.
I am trying to start a tree for a friend based on her known information but have barely got past her birthday before Ive hit a brick wall...!

Her father's name is Kenneth Watson bn early 20th century Cornwall.  Mother's name is Violet Hull born similar time Lincs.  They married at St Mary's in Peterborough.  She has never seen a birth certificate and is a little 'confused' as to us not being able to find ANYTHING relating to Hulls in Stamford or Watsons in Mylor Creek in any census or BMD index.
My friend was born in Lowick, Northants 'at home'.

Kenneth's mother's name was Laura, father was Frederick. Laura died when Kenneth was 3 years old and Fred remarried to a Florence.
Violet's mother was Harriett who married Sidney Wilgrove of London when Harriett was about 45 ish. (Harriett may not be legitimate, therefore).  Sidney brought two sons to the family, Sidney & Fred.

Any info or guidance would be gratefully received!

Many thanks,
Flipster

Think we might be opening a can of worms so have sent her off to the register office for her birth certificate.  Should be interesting, and I just hope she's prepared for what she finds out. I can do no more till then.
