MARY MARSHALL b. 1835 BARNSLEY

Hi all,

Perhaps someone can help with this brickwall.  Mary b. 1835 d.o. Thomas Marshall and Sarah Smith had an illegitimate son born 1857 at Barnsley Union Workhouse, father not listed on birth cert.  She married Joseph Hoyland Pattison in 1861 and they had a daughter, Mary, in 1865.  I have now found a marriage for Joseph Hoyland Pattison (widower) and Elizabeth Dawson (widow) (nee Adamson) in 1867.  I can't find a death for Mary between 1865 and 1867.  Any suggestions?

Hi Tisy, did the daughter Mary die in Dec 1865 Barnsley 9c 121 or was this Mary?

Thanks for this - I tried all the surname variants I could think of - except this one!  I have no idea which one this is - mother or baby;  Baby Mary was baptised in November 1865.  I will have to send for the certificate to make sure.

Hi again Tisy, with surnames like Pattison,  always tick the little box on Freebmd " Phonetic search surnames"  !!

Thanks again.  If there is anyone out there who may be connected to this Pattison family (they lived at Crigglestone in 1861 - a Mr and Mrs Carr with two children by the name of Pattison (gransdchildren??), and visitor Mary Pattison (Marshall) aged 27 and William Marshall (aged 4), it would be nice to hear from you.
