I am a bit puzzled? ???

You know Ann's name - and you know her father's name?
Where did that information come from?

There are 5 Ann/Annie James marriages in Cumberland, 1860-1880.
Without more information it's going to be impossible to help!

So you actually have a lot more information about your 2xG Grandmother!

The names of the sons (and possibly daughters).
Maybe census returns? Or at least where they lived.
Her husband's name.
WHen she married/died?

All this information helps us track a person down.

So, can you give us census details for her and the dates for her sons?  Was James her married name or her maiden name?  Don't you have any idea who she married?

If you can see her in 1911, then what is the name of her husband? ???

Your listing of the 1851 census is helpful, but what has it got to do with a baptism of John James?

Simple question: What is the surname of Anne's two sons in the 1911 census?  If it's James, then obviously she never married. If it something different, then that's the information anyone needs to do some research
