Army Service Corps  has monogram ASC within a Garter set upon an 8 pointed star where the North point of the star is covered by a crown. The AVC has a crown above the laurel and the laurel almost meets under the crown.
Could be  Corps  of Royal Engineers but that has the monogram GvR in the centre but cant make that out on the photo.
