We still think George was born 1923, not 1924
On the 1923 Marriage on Family Search, Albert's age given as 21 - born abt 1902.
He may have been born early 1901, and died 1961:
BIRTH FreeBMD:Albert LOMAS, Mar Qtr 1901, Macclesfield
CHRISTENING Family Search:Albert LOMAS, chr 12 May 1901 at St John Bollington
Parents: John LOMAS & Mary Elizabeth
1901 Census: Union Street, Bollington, RG13 / Piece: 3305 / Folio: 95 / Pg32
Head: John LOMAS 27, Printers Labourer
Wife: Mary E LOMAS 25
Son: Albert LOMAS 1 mo.
Son: Jack LOMAS 11mo.
All stated as born Bollington
DEATH FreeBMD: Macclesfield Sep Qtr 1961Albert LOMAS age 60
PROBATE London 21 March 1962Albert LOMAS of 56 High St Bollington near Macclesfield, died 23 Jul 1961 at the Macclesfield Infirmary. Probate to: Samuel HARDY, textile overlooker & William ELLIS, Licensed Victualler.
From what you have said so far, it seems quite likely to be the right track so far - though of course it should be proved via documentation (names, address', witness, occupations etc, to compare on BMD & Census and so on).
Next but one down from John LOMAS in 1901, same page & still at Union Street, are his parents, I think:
Head: Thomas LOMAS 61, Printworks Watchman,
Wife: Jane LOMAS 50,
Dau: Jane LOMAS 24, unm, Cotton Doubler
Son: Thomas LOMAS 23, unm, Hatters Labourer
Dau: Sarah LOMAS 16, unm, Paper Sticker
Dau: Mary NICHOLLS 28, married, Cotton Doubler
Nephew: John G -FIELDSTEAD 44, married, Stoker
Nephew: James FIELDSTEAD 14, Cotton Piecer, b Burnley Lancs.
Nephew: John FIELDSTEAD 12, Cotton Gasser, b Burnley Lancs
Boarder: Emma L REDFERN 35, unm, Cotton Doubler,
Boarder: Lillian REDFERN 11,
All stated as born Bollington (except the 2 FIELDSTEAD boys).
Prior census 1891 & 1881 show Thomas & Jane have a son John b abt 1874.
And I think just maybe John died 1903:
DEATH: Macclesfield, Sep Qtr 1903
John LOMAS age 29 yrs
Would be interesting to see the 1911 Census though to see if there was other children and if John is still alive or not.
We can't look up the 1911 or report any findings from it in the nature of a lookup. But you can free search here:
