Help with baptism entry please...

Please can anyone help with this baptism entry 1762 Edinburgh. I can make out some of it but not all.

Daniel Farquharson indweller in Newkirk Parish and Margaret Clerk his spouse a Daughter named Margaret, witnesses John Farquharson Merchant in College Kirk Parish and William (Wm) Shaw Chair master in Old Kirk parish the child was born _____ morning.

Note: College Kirk Parish in Edinburgh was sometimes referred to as ... Trinity (College) Kirk Parish

Julie - it helps if you post what you think it says, particularly with names.  You've probably got a much better idea of what they might be  :)

I believe Oldkirk Parish in in the Granton Area of Edinburgh

The name is Farquharson, though it looks a bit like it starts with an 'H'.

Am I right to assume indweller means resided there? It's a shame they didn't give the father's occupation as they went to the trouble of stating the witnesses'!

Yes a pity about the father's occupation not being listed.
Interestingly, scotlandspeople.gov.uk describes a 'Chairmaster' as.......
One who carries a sedan chair or oversees a fleet of chairs the fore runner of Taxi drivers I presume.

I did wonder about Farquharson, 'cos I've heard of that!  But it looked more like an H than an F  ::)

It's actually ff which was how a capital F was written then  :D

Its indexed as 'F' on Scotlandspeople.gov.uk...... together with two other children for this couple
