Pendrigh sisters
« on: Sunday 03 June 12 14:46 BST (UK) »
Hi, is it possible to trace sisters Margaret Pendrigh born New York 1929 and Elizabeth Pendrigh born New Jersey 1923 to see if they married and had family, I have them in the 1930 census, thanks Tony.

Rootschat isn't a forum for tracing living people and we aren't allowed to post details of anyone who might still be living.
Privacy rules also mean that many recent records such as births, marriages and deaths are not available online (some U.S. states have very restricted criteria regarding who is allowed to purchse certificates).
The 1940 census is now available (Ancestry has some but not all states indexed) and the U.S. Social Security Death Index might be another resource to look at if you have an exact date of birth (although for various reasons not everyone deceased is listed).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you for your reply, I will try the 1940 census though, thanks, Tony.

The best bet may be to find out what happened to their parents and see if they're mentioned in an obituary.  I see there was some discussion of them on this thread:  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,478673.0.html

The family is in Queens, New York on the 1940 Census at the same address as on Thomas' WWII Draft Registration Card.

Thank you for that information, looks like that's as far as I can go, it would of been lovely to see if they were still alive and see if they had any photo's of Thomas Pendrigh, my cousins grandfather. My cousin Lily is now 87yrs old, thanks for your help, Tony.
