Hi Kimmy,
A PAUL/SUSANNAH Shipley were Chrsitening Children in the right time frame in Bulwell but I cant find a Charles to them.
(Source FreeREG)

As Charles does not name Children either of these names I am not sure about them being his possible Parents.

On what info do you base that he was born Bulwell or even Notts at all?
A Tree has him dying 1838. Do you have the Cert to confirm his age?
I see he Married Martha Jackson 1792.

Sorry not much help!

Trish :)

Hi,

Ancestry will just give names and dates as does Pallots index, Parish records may give witnesses depending on how good the parish clerk was and how well the records survived I can have a look at it in the week as I go into Nottingham Archives every week.

Hi Nottsgirl1
Blimey that would be amazing as I am trying to do all this from Spain, so a visit to the archives is out of the question at the moment.

Charles Shipley married Martha Jackson 9-4-1792 in Bulwell Nottingham (poss St Marys in Bulwell)

Many thanks for the offer
regards
Kimmy

Hi Kimmy,

No problem yes it would be a bit hard to do from Spain.   I'll do that for you most likely be on Wednesday or Friday.Yes it is St Mary's.

If there is anything else you would like me to look up please let me know.

Hi Kimmy,

Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you.
I've had a look at the marriage of Charles Shipley and Martha Jackson 9 April 1792 at St Mary's Church. They married by banns and the witnesses were William Garnod? (sorry it was hard to read) and  William Robinson.
So no help to you really.
