No, thats not the one I meant. If you go to the ancestry site, there are 7 family trees which mention Arthur Victor Crowe and Ida Pearl Parker, the Chatburn tree seems to have all the information regarding Timothy Benjamin Humby Crowe and Lydia Thomas and the children.  The ancestry site does not show the e-mail addresses of the owners but you can send them a message through the connection service. If you do not have access to ancestry then register for free and look at the sister site www.mundia.com where you should be able to contact any of the tree owners.

It looks like Arthur is on the California death index here:  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-26184-6416-71?cc=1932433&wc=14216747  I found a newspaper article indicating that he committed suicide.     It looks like he was separated from his wife, as there were notices placed in 1927 that he was no longer responsible for her debts. 

There's a Lily Prescott on the California death index with a death date that matches the 1939 date mentioned above - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1951-26181-20387-60?cc=1932433&wc=14216749  She's also listed in an Oakland newspaper under S.F. (San Francisco) Deaths, but no further information in there.  The San Francisco public library will do free obituary look-ups - http://sfpl.org/index.php?pg=2000049301 - so maybe it's worth checking for anything for her.

Thank you kindly for these leads.

Thats rather interesting about Arthur.  I'm not familiar with the way deaths are recorded
so do not know where he died but presume it was in the same area as his mother Lily Prescott.
Would the SF newspapers also have an obituary for him.

Arthur's brother,  Eric Louis Crowe was apparently deported back to England in Dec 1932 - any leads on where to find out why? and it appears as if he had to leave his wife and child
behind because I'm told he married again 4 years later in UK.

This is turning out to be an intriguing family and anything you can do to assist will
be very welcome.

From the newspaper article on his death, it looks like he died in Berkeley, California, which is near to San Francisco, so it might be worth checking for an obituary.  The Oakland & Berkeley newspapers both reported his death, but I didn't see an obituary in either.

I have sent off emails to the sfpl.org for information on the deaths of Arthur & Lily and hopefully
we'll get more in due course.

Unfortunately, on the Death Index I can't read the titles in all the columns - I can make out "date of death" and age but the remainder are all blurry and pixelated.  Also there is * in the final column -  do you know what it means.
