Any tips please
« on: Sunday 10 June 12 20:54 BST (UK) »
I am researching my fathers ancestors `Jones`
His G G grandmother is listed on the 1841 census born 1786  Llangattock ( Llangadog) occupation Butcher. widow.
Her son, JOhn M Jones age 20 born 1821 Glamorgan.
Living in Merthyr Tydfil.
Any advice how I can find out her husbands name, ect, and her maiden name.
I guess there are so many John M Jones born Glamorgan  if I apply for a birth cert.
Am  hitting a brick wall.
Many thanks

You wouldn't get a birth certificate for someone born in 1821.

Annwyl Heddwch
Try the IGI. Try the marriage cert. of John M.Jones(bc.1821),
if after 1837 it will give his father's name. Once you have his name you could try the IGI for a marriage or the various marriage indices. Read your item again & see your problem.
Gt2 gdmother?? A rough model=-30 years per generation,
there are from 1786-1821 only 14 years. The 2 gt. gdmother?? does not seem to be right. Have I got this wrong?
