Area of Nottingham?
« on: Sunday 17 June 12 18:44 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of 'Mount East in the parish of St. Mary's Nottingham' because one of my ancestors was born there in 1812.

And I think there are a few St Mary's churches in Nottingham so I'm not sure which is the one I'm looking for  :-\

Thanks for any help,

RJM   :)

Could it be "Mount Street" instead of "Mount east"????

I saw that on Google Maps and it's not far from a St Mary's Church so maybe   ???

Thanks,

Mount East Street disappeared with the development of Victoria Station c.1900.

On a google street map -
It ran parallell to Milton Street into Lower Parliament Street. If you take a line North from Thurland Street to Lower Parliament Street, this is where Mount East Street met Lower Parliament Street.

Generally when its the Parish of St. Mary's its the area in the city centre. I live within the city. If there are photos I can take please ask.
