james W Wells marriage

James William Wells, b c1841 Lewisham kent.  Looking for birth and marriage if possible.  Spouse Mary Louisa ? Born c1844 kent.  1881 census Rotherite, Surrey.  can anyone help please.  have looked on family Search and Ancestry without success.

When was their first child born?  Ah, I see she is 11 in 1881  freebmd.org.uk might be a helpful site.  If you get a child's birth certificate you will know his wife's maiden name.  I can see a birth registration for Samuel in St Olave which covers Rotherhithe.  Dec 1880 1d 315

Hi Sillgen, Matilda b c1874.  Trying all avenues first.  Not being tight but trying not to spend on yet another cert.  Thanks for response.

Louisa is their eldest isn't she?    Age 11 in 1881 and born in Walworth. Then Matilda, James and Samuel.  Maybe you need to look earlier for the marriage?
