Alfreton burial c.1714
« on: Wednesday 20 June 12 08:02 BST (UK) »
I am searching for a burial of Mary Frignall, wife of Peter Frignall, who I believe died in Alfreton between 1714 and 1721. She gave birth to her last child in 1714, and Peter remarried in 1721 so she must have died between then.

Thanks,
Alexander

That is interesting Carol, thanks for checking. She must have been buried elsewhere then.

I found the following baptisms on FamilySearch. Does your CD contain baptisms for this period? I wonder if you are able to confirm these, or add if there are any missing? There seems a curious gap between the 1710 and 1714 baptisms. :-\

all Alfreton, children of Peter Frignal (by 2 wives)
23 02 1708 - Elizabeth
28 11 1710 - John
02 05 1714 - Mary
16 05 1722 - Anne
22 10 1723 - Richard
07 10 1724 - Dorothy

Cheers,
Alexander

Yes I can confirm those names & dates.  No mother's name is given on any of the entries though.

Hi,
Information for everyone searching:-
The marriage of a Peter Fregnal of Alfreton to Anne Houghton of Horsley took place 22nd April 1721 at St. Werburgh's Derby, per Phillimore Derbyshire Marriages

It is quite possible there is an additional child for this second marriage:-

Bpt.  Horsley  13th August 1728  Thomas Fricknal son of Petri and Anna.  Place of birth is given as Little Eaton.
per Familysearch.org Batch number C017555.

Thank you Spendlove.

Sadly the son Thomas you mention was buried in March 1729 at Horsley.

There also seem to be three additional children from that marriage, baptised at Derby St Alkmund
Elleanor - ?? Mar 1726
Ellen - 27 Feb 1729
Susannah - 24 Jan 1730

I think the first two must have died in infancy, or not long after. Though I can't find burials for the parents or any of them for that matter.
