Hi

I see that he was named as the father of a Mary Bonzani, b. 20 Backgate,  Peterhead in 1908 (illegitimate) .  He was listed as an Ice Cream Vendor, living  at 45 High Street, Frazerburgh. The mother was Isabella Wiseman.

Have you found him on the 1901/1911 censuses?

Just been looking at that entry so wll post what  I've written -

In 1901 there is a Primo Bonzani, aged 24, lodger, Ice cream merchant, born italy in the household of Antonio Giulianotti, an Ice cream merchant, 20 Chapel Street, Peterhead. There seem to be a whole houseful of ice cream sellers.

I wonder if this was him under a different name of maybe one of his relatives.

Nothing for 1911 so far

PS - he was 32 at marriage and a fish shop owner in Aberdeen.

Hi again

Just checked the 1901 again and there seems some confusion - the lodger has been crossed out and head inserted.  The Giulianotti household is down as no 22 and Bonzani as 20 Chapel Street.  A line has been inserted between the households. Will add a snip to show the entry.

Definitely Peterhead not Aberdeen.

Not sure if you have this but  I've just found that Mary Bonzani (maiden surname Connelly) died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on 4 June 1913, aged 22 and married to Aristodemo Bonzani, a ship painter. Cause of death - sinus thrombosis and cerebral haemorrhage. Aristodemo was the informant. Their usual residence was 203 Gallowgate.

Aristodemo  seems to have changed his occupation fairly swiftly. On their marriage on 6th May 1913 he was a Fish Shop Keeper.

I've not found anything else about him after this date in Scotland.

A little more -

When Mary Bonzani, Aristodemo's daughter married in Peterhead on 24th May 1928, Aristodemo is recorded as a confectioner, deceased. There is no record of a death for him in Scotland.
