Thank you so much, all very helpful, especially the Whittem spelling. A bit confused though - is Whittem the correct one?

Hi Yorkslady

Based on the details you supplied regarding Susannah MYERS, I'm confident that the information I've given here, relates to the same person.

[Susanah [sic]  MYERS m. Robert WHITTEM -- Susanah/Susannah WHITTEM a.k.a. Susan WHITTEM :
Death - 1937 -- Susan WHITTEM 79 yrs - born circa 1858, which matches the birth year you gave for Susannah MYERS.]

Perhaps if you could explain why you have doubts about WHITTEM being the "correct one" -- we may be able to provide further help.  :)

Mainly in the Westport, Reefton area of New Zealand

Hi again

Inquest into death of Robert WHITTEM / and obituary :

http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz

"Daily Telepgraph" (Napier) - 11 September 1900 - Found Drowned.

At the end of the abovementioned newspaper article relating to the inquest for Robert WHITTEM, there follows, an obituary.

... late Mr Robert WHITTEM ... was for many years connected the the mining and other industries in the early days of Reefton on the west coast of New Zealand ... (before he migrated to the North Island ).

Hi

When you are in Rootschat look at the top of the screen and you should see the words

Welcome back, Lucy2, you have nnn messages, n are new (n is a number)

Select Messages and it should open in your Inbox and you should now be able to read them.

Above each message you should see the a Reply button.

I suspect that it is not that you can't use the PM system but that your computer security is not allowing you to open a website from a link on an email.

Andy

 Hello there

I am a descendant from this line.   Maria Stallard, Eliza and John Stallard's daughter is my Great Great Grandmother.

I have done  (always ongoing) research into this family and may be able to fill in some gaps for you.
