can you locate a grave for edwin (edward) power who died when thrown from his horse in Sydney area c. 1890 - 1930. He was from Fenor, Co. Waterford, Ireland or Co. Kildare, Ireland.
Hi Wilkel,
Yes Ted Power didnt die straight away he was able to drag himself the 1500 kms from Sydney and died at the gates on the Inglewood Cemetery in Victoria. Not a bad effort for a dying man.
looking for grave of edmond power , also known as edwin who apparently died near sydney in 1901 from a horsing accident. can you help?
Did you read the reply posted by Dale in reply to your request ???
You didn't respond to the information given ::)
Righto then..
So this one is the death you're looking for.
POWER Edmond
Father POWER Edmond
Mother Margt UNKNOWN
Age 52
Death Place Bgo (Bendigo)
Year 1901
Reg. 4731

Well, at least that one left a will that was administered naming family from Waterford, IRELAND.
Available to download from PROV:

Highly doubt he died from a riding accident as he left money to his nurse who looked after him during his illness & he's buried at BENDIGO Cemetery.

If he crawled/staggered, with his his injuries, to the gates of the Inglewood Cemetery, why was he buried at Bendigo?

I wonder ....

There's a 6 May 1898 death registered as a Marine death .... NSW BDM online index has
Edwin POWELL, unknown given names for either of his parents,   #7837   .... perhaps the informant mis-heard Edwin's surname?   Perhaps this chap was buried at sea ?

Cheers,  JM

My Apologies.

Apparently sarcasm isnt allowed on this forum.

There are no Edward/Edwin/E? Ted Power(s) buried at Inglewood.

Aaaah!... A joke!

There are no rules at all about humour in the forum. Appreciated by some I'm sure, but irritating for others perhaps, especially if not aware your facetious intent.

A bit confusing this time.

Thanks for that info CarrollK

I can find only two births registered to Denis and Jane

Bridget in 1864 at Kingower
Ellen Jane in 1869 in Inglewood

Millie would fit nicely between these 2.

Can you give any more details from the death certificate eg Husbands name and children

Thanks again, Dale
