Henry Lucas Marriage

I'd posted an earlier look up request which I've managed to follow up with a visit to the Warwick record office but the mystery remains

Henry Lucas and his wife Mary had nine children of which the first three were baptised in Shipston on Stour (the latter six being baptised in Little Compton where the family settled) which made me wonder if Mary was from Shipston unfortunately there is no marriage record in the Shipston registers and I'm trying to trace Mary's maiden name.

Henry Lucas was born in Cassington, Oxfordshire, I'm guessing the marriage was between 1810 and 1813 when their first child, William, was born when Henry was about 21.

Have you tried to find any of the children on the IGI sites to see if any mothers surname is recorded

The three children baptised in Shipston simply have her as Mary, the other children where identified from the Little Compton census'.  I'm afraid Mary died in 1845 and the 1841 census didn't record where she was born.

If no marriage can be found, you may have to consider that maybe they did not legally marry.

Was she given as born in the county though.

Both Mary and Henry have a ditto mark in the column whether born in the county.  Having said that the 1841 census was taken in Little Compton which Ancestry has in Gloucestershire but the 1851 census has Little Compton in Warwickshire and Henry's place of birth as Cassington Oxfordshire so I'm unsure which Mary's birth county was.

Mary 1796-1849 married to Henry Lucas  her maiden name was Ingram i'm guessing the trade may have been shoemaker !
