Hi Sheila - welcome to Rootschat!  :)

If you want to find out details about your Grandfather's burial, Hillfoot(s) Cemetery is also known as New Kilpatrick Cemetery and is in the care of East Dunbartonshire Council.

I believe they're very good at assisting with burial searches but I haven't had any personal experience.

They'd be able to tell you the Section and Lair Number in which he's buried and also, who (if anyone) else is buried there.

See: http://www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/content/law_and_licensing/birth,_marriage_and_death/death___advice_and_support/death___graves_and_memorials/cemeteries_in_east_dunbartonsh.aspx

Sorry about the HUGE link!!

Anne  ;D
