would the church hold their marriage records or would i have to travel up to llandrindod wells.  would anybody know please

they are available on Find my Past. Your local library should have a subscription. Llanfaes comes under "Brecknockshire, Brecon, St David"

There are some marriage records on freereg.org.uk but only for 1813 - 1837
