Hi Keyboard86,

I am trying to find the following on William Henry Hiscock's sons.  (William b. 1836, was son of Eliza Hiscock before she married William Withers)

1. William Hiscock b. bapt 22 Apr 1860 married his second wife Matilda, abt 1910.  She was born abt 1863 in Eling, Hampshire.

What is her last name?

2. I am looking for a 1911 census for Frederick Charles Hiscock b. Sept quarter 1867, Southampton and his wife Bertha Gibbs b. 1866.  They were married Jun quarter 1887, Southampton

I have found them in a 1891 & 1901 census

1891 Census St Mary, Southampton, Newtown, St Luke - 6 Lower Lyon St

Frederick Hiscock, Head, mar, 24 yrs, General Labourer, b. Southampton
Bertha Hiscock, wife, mar, 23 yrs, b. Southampton
Harriet Randall, aunt, widow, 69 yrs, living on her own means, b. Beauliew, Hampshire

1901 Census St Mary, Matthews, Southampton, Nicholstown

Frederick Hiscock, Head, mar, 34 yrs, Labourer Docks, worker, b. Southampton, Hampshire
Bertha Hiscock, wife, mar, 34 yrs, b. Southampton

There is a burial record for Frederick Charles Hiscock, 04 Jun 1925, 62 yrs, of 21 Bond St, buried at Holybrook Cemetery

There is a burial record for Bertha Hiscock, 17 Feb 1920, 52 yrs, of 21 Bond Street, buried at Hollybrook Cemetery

Moderator comment: very sorry but requests for 1911 census look-ups are not allowed on RootsChat.  The index is free to view and much info can be found without having to pay to view the image.

Hi

[amended post]

William Hiscock / Alice Matilda Cox
1910 Jun Southampton 2c 85

On some sites (FREEBMD/Anc....y)
William Hiscock marriage reference is given as
"1910 Jun Southampton 2c 35"
it isn't that reference.
When you look at the original scanned document it says
"1910 Jun Southampton 2c 85"

WmH / EllenF marriage ref was
1885 Dec Southampton 2c 59

Whether the 2 Williams are one and the same, I do not know.
Buy the 1910 certificate and see if it is the one you expect?

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the mar reg.

(not the 2c35 William is indexed on FREEBMD/Anc....y) ?

I see that there are a number of William Hiscock's born in 1859-1860 on FreeBMD.  Do you know which one married Alice Matilda and which one is William Henry & Mary Ann Hiscock's son.  Are they one and the same?

I had thought that the William 2c35 was my William and I had him married to Ellen Figes, 1st wife. and Alice Matida as 2nd wife.  In 1891 census with his parents, he was listed as a grinder in oil mill.  In census with Ellen Figes and Alice Matilda he is listed as pressman in oil mill, so I thought it was same William.

Thanks

Hi Ray,

I got confused because birth reg for William Hiscock is
Mar 1860  Southampton    2c 35.  I thought you were telling me that the William who married Alice Matilda wasn't the William born Mar 1860 2c 35.

I finally figured it out by looking at the original mar reg doc, and was about to post a reply when I saw you had amended your original post.

Thanks for your reply
