Passenger Lists
« on: Friday 29 June 12 04:55 BST (UK) »
Hi
I need help to trace the parents of my Irish Immigrants. My 2 times great grandparents arrivied on the "William Nicol" in 1840, they were just newly married arriving in Adelaide.
My problem is no parents were listed.
Bridget Brennan and Patrick Joyce.Patrick died in 1852.
The big  problem is Bridget married again 6 months later and maybe 4 years later again.
So not knowing her parents makes it difficult to trace her death.
thank your time
Sandra

There is a marriage for these folk but I'm afraid the fathers aren't listed.  :(

Patrick Joyce married Bridget Brennan on the 18th March 1840 in Aughaval Roman Catholic Parish, County Mayo. Witnesses were Thomas Browne and Anne Moran.

Hi
Thank you so much for your time, someone with a family tree listed Patrick Joyce birth about 1813/14 from Rosehill Kilmeena but we can not contact her about that info to find out where she got that information from unfortunately.
Will look up Aughaval to see if that place is near Kilmeena.
Thank you again.

I've also noticed the spelling Oughaval, but not sure if this is literally the same or not (maybe one an RC parish, the other a civil parish? Maybe someone reading can set me right).

Irregardless, Aughaval / Oughaval and Kilmeena are definitely in the same general area near Westport in County Mayo. You may want to post in the Mayo section or perhaps a moderator might repost you there.
