Osborn of Weeford
« on: Saturday 30 June 12 08:42 BST (UK) »
Growing up here in Australia heard mention of Weeford and Manley constantly from an ancient aunt.
She was born an Osborn and her father James Edward Marmaduke Osborn had been born in Philadelphia. His father James Osborn was listed as a draper in Philadelphia U.S.A and one wonders whether he was born in Weeford.

Can anyone help please?
Cheers Hyjean

What time frame are we talking here?
When was the elder James born?
When and where did he marry?

Can't see any Osbourn or Osbourne in either Weeford or Manley on the 1881 census? ???

Yes, silly me forgot the finer points.

James Edward Marmaduke(my gt g/father) born Philadelphia about 1839 deduced by age on Death Cert but could be give or take a few years either way as Marriage Cert age is passing him off as younger than he was I suspect.

James Edward Osborn( my gt gt grandfather occupation for this man on son's Death Cert states Draper). Family folklore says James married a French woman. So marriage and move to USA would be 1830's I suspect.

Cheers and sorry for lack of detail.

Hello,
I am jumping in to this thread to hopefully gain some further information or assistance on how to follow the family trees past 1800.
My family has links to James Edward Marmaduke Osborn, born in Philadelphia USA, and moved to Tasmania Australia.
I am seeking further information about his ancestors. I have hit a brick wall and any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
Moon
