It Seems that William and Catherine had the following

Margaret Hedges 1740 –
Thomas Hedges 1743 – 1743
William Hedges 1745 – 1817
Killingworth Hedges 1749 – 1822
Silence Hedges 1752 –
John Hedges 1754 – 1838
Katherine Hedges 1756 –
Benjamin Hedges 1763 – 1816

Margaret married William Brooks - marriage not found evidence from mother's will

Silence married John Williams of Deddington

Ohh looks like there is a PCC will for Catherine Hedges (nee Killingworth).  I have sent you a copy of the notes from this Les

I think John married an Elizabeth.

She says 7 children... Thomas is in brother Killingworth's will (1822)

Shame we haven't got Wootton...  To get her marriage to William Hedges. If it was there??

Hi

I have the Wooton transcripts but have lost the plot trying to follow all the posts :)

There is baptism for Killingworth Hedges 15 Jan 1795 s Benjamin & Martha
This fits the marriage to Jane Bishop and the buriels in 1860 (Killingworth age 65) and 1867 (Jane age 75)

There is a Kenilworth Hedges baptised 04 Apr 1811 s Thomas & Susannah who may be the one who married Elizabeth Higgins 26 Oct 1835
Wit=Thomas Stone & Sarah Higgins

His buriel ?
16 Dec 1858-Killingworth Hedges  46

Oh that's great Kim

Is the marriage of William Hedges and Catherine Killingworth at Wootton? it would be 1739 according to the online tree we are checking?

I have just found this note on William from the on-line tree

----------------------------------------
William was supposed to have joined Hedges and Butler's in 1733, This is an unfounded rumour perpetuated over the years.

But I have my doubts about this, as he never appeared to have left Wootton, also he had no connection with the KILLINGWORTH's who had married into the HARRIS family (Founders of a Grocers business in London), until he had married Catherine KILLNGWORTH in 1739. It was Catherine's brothers who inherited the business in London from their uncle Edmund HARRIS. In fact the first HEDGES involved was the fifth child of William & Catherine's, named 'Killingworth HEDGES' who succeeded his uncle William KILLINGWORTH in the Grocery business. (Naming it 'HEDGES')  in 1767, and it was a considerable time before it became known as 'HEDGES & BUTLER's due to the fact that two of Killingworth's HEDGES children being married to BUTLER's who were also grocers and the business's became combined.

Just found that the marriage of William & Catherine  was at Over Worton a bit to the north of Wootton apparently

Les was it you who had that big hunt going on for the Norris family?  cos I have just seen that Catherine Killingworth's parents were Thomas Killingworth & Margaret nee Norris.

I  must say that most of what I am finding is directly from one persons tree on Anc..y and he really has done a great job,  one of the best I've seen,  it might be good to try and get in touch Les
