EUSTON of Tryddyn
« on: Monday 23 May 05 11:40 BST (UK) »
Hello I am searching for Walton Harry Euston born c1880 in Tryddyn to William Euston (veterinary surgeon) and Mary Euston nee Newton. Walton moved to Aust in about 1904 & married Ella Gertrude Smith in 1917. They had 3 children (1920, 1923, 1927) before Walton died in Melbourne on 6.1.1930. I was wondering if anyone knows of a register of Veterinary surgeons in about the 1870's???        Any help however tenuous would be greatly appreciated.
With Kindest Regards Peter Euston

Hello Arranroots,
I probably do have some of these names I could research for you but without more details I wouldn't know where to start.
How did you come to contact me this way? It is most unusual. You can find me (and other chatters) in your "messages" at the top of the page after you log on.
If you would like to send some more details like 1st names, dates, counties, spouse or siblings etc I will see what I can find.
Regards.
Peter Euston

Hello Peter

No, this is the way it works when you get a reply, LOL!  ;D

I was offering to help you - I have no personal connection with the EUSTON family, but thanks anyway!

Arranroots  ;)

Hello Arranroots, I must apologise I took your msg the wrong way, I thought you were seeking my help.
Thankyou very much for the offer and in answer to your question no I have not been able to definately locate any of the family in any census or other records so far.
I would be most grateful for your help since another pair of eyes may possibly find that vital break-through.
Once again I am sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks again for your help.
Kind Regards.
Peter Euston.

Well Peter!

Elusive would be one word for them!  ;D

There are not many EUSTONs anywhere in Wales, still fewer Waltons and none with the combination.

Do you have any info about siblings?  What do you know of Mary NEWTON?

Have to give up at this point, but let us know if you have anything else that might help??

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

I agree with Arranroots. The only semblance of a match is a Walter brother of William but no Mary and no vets.
I wonder if they were in Scotland or Ireland. Don't forget that Tryddyn is now spelt Treuddyn but I tried all sorts of combinations of names in either without success. If the marriage is certain have you obtained the certificate and the same applies with the birth - have you looked through 1837online.com?

Hello Peterej, I am quite encouraged by the fact that other people are searching on my behalf. I thank you and all the others very much for your efforts.
The info I have was taken from Walton's marriage cert, his 3 children's birth certs and his death cert. By no means am I certain of anything in relation to Walton. If I thought there was even a vague chance of buying any certificates I would not hesitate. So far, like you and Arranroots I have been unable to establish any connection between any Wm EUSTON & Mary NEWTON. I am systematically trying all variations of spelling I can think of and not limiting my queries to just Wales. I have so far sent more than 200 emails to people with a Wm EUSTON or Mary NEWTON in their tree as identified in GenesReunited. I have also emailed 2 Vet Colleges and the Vet Registration Board re Wm EUSTON with no luck there. I chat regularly in 2 genealogy chat rooms and ask everyone that comes in about EUSTON/NEWTON. I have posted on several message boards & subscribed to several Genealogy Lists (like this one).
The only thing that keeps me searching is the kindness and generosity of people like you & Arranroots which I appreciate enormously. Thankyou again for your efforts.
Good luck with your own search and I'm sure that one day together we can scale this brickwall.
Many thanks and kind regards.
Peter Euston

Thanks for the thanks - much appreciated

I notice these births in North Wales BMD and as it is all in the same area thought it worth drawing to your attention. I could not see the family in Flintshire in 1901 which may indicate they were either out of England and Wales or coincidentally moved there

North Wales Birth indexes for the years: 1910
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
EUSTON John W Hawarden Flintshire HAW/11A/96

North Wales Birth indexes for the years: 1912

North Wales Birth indexes for the years: 1924
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
EUSTON Bernard Edward Hawarden Flintshire HAW/31A/88

Total records matching : 3 .

also 1 death

North Wales Death indexes for the years: 1950
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
EUSTON Selina Adelaide Hawarden Flintshire HAW/33A/5

no marriages but the North Wales BMD is incomplete
