By 1861 - only 2 children are still at home with Thomas & Mary - Margaret aged 37 and Jean aged 18.  Thomas & Mary still shown as b "Ireland"

It's a bonus for you that Thomas & Mary were still alive post-1855 as their death certs should give their respective parents names and mothers maiden name

The 1861 has a David Watson b 1817 Kircolm married to an Agnes also from Kirkcolm.  They are living in Barr Ayrshire.  Appear to have married in Kirkcolm and here's the marriage

Young Agnes Watson born 1841 is a servant in Kirkcolm

Robert Watson is married to Elisabeth & living in Penninghame Wigtown so this is probably his marriage

Many thanks everyone for your input. I have a lot of info on the family of Thomas and Mary Watson my ggg grandparents . The only two  of their daughters I have never been able to find deaths for Agnes and Jane who was married to John Kerr.
I am trying to put together more information on Ann Watson and Samuels Smiths before I go onto SP  trying to save a few pennies
as I know it is going to be a costly affair.
Was hoping if someone could find the family for me on census that would give me a bit help -- rough idea of ages etc.
as I knew they wouldn't all be on the IGI.

Can I ask why would they put both names eg. Ann Watson or Smith on 1881 census for prisoner on 1881 census .

Cheers,
Jessie

Carol,
I am so sorry I missed your last post.
.
I have done a lot of research on the Watson family their daughter Margaret was my gg grandmother.I have Thomas and Mary's death certs but unfortunately their were no parents names on them. Can you imagine amount of grandchildren they had --I have the B.M.D's for 99% of them

It is only the family of Ann and Samuel Smith I need to find.

Sorry to have misled you.

Regards,

Jessie

Thanks sancti,

I have been on SP and found the following --
John b 1847 married  Margaret Hepburn in 1869 and died in 1876.
Jane  b 1860 died 1863
Samuel b 1856 died 1857

Samuel b 1865 married Elizabeth Durkin in 1893
A little progress.

The plot thickens according to SP

Samuel and Mary m.s. Mills Rooney had a number of illegitimate children between 1864 and 1870

I found a marriage for them in 1886 and it just states Samuel is a widower Mary was the widow of

Joseph Rooney .

On his death cert . it says he is the widower of Mary ms. Mills

Where oh where is Ann in 1871 . I have tried to download the prisoner Ann Watson or Smith on SP in 1881 census to find out if this is her but have had no success
In 1891 she is in Stranraer Poorhouse.
