Hi

Fathers names were not shown on marriage entries prior to 1.7.1837 which is the date when Civil Registration was introduced.  Mothers names are never shown on English marriage certs

The most you will get in additional info from the original record is the names of their witnesses

There are 2 male Seeley marriages to an Elizabeth in Lincolnshire but no way of knowing which one is correct

Apart from the venue for this burial being the same as the marriage venue - I have no way of knowing if this is the right Elizabeth

16.6.1819 Elizabeth Squires aged 81 St Mary Le Wigford

That would give a birthyear around 1738

PR entry of the marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth. (Top, right-hand page.)
http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=607313&iid=424908

I would probably take a punt and say that Elizabeth is the widow of Charles, simply because that marriage took place in the city. On the other hand Burton-by-Lincoln is only a couple of miles outside of the city.

You can search many of the PRs online at
http://www.lincstothepast.com/
but do read the 'help' section first and with the 'how to search for parish registers' do make sure that you read to the end so that you enter the correct parish name.
Enter the name followed by PAR 1 in the 'With the exact phrase' box.
Many registers prior to 1813 are classed as 'general registers' as they contain a mixture of baptisms, marriages, and burials.
This is the St Peter at Arches general register, and if you scroll down a bit it tells you which dates are applicable to which events, and some images have surnames transcribed.
Image 21 might prove interesting :) though I would advise you to search at least the Burton-by-Lincoln register too.

Hi Jacquie,
Sorry you've been ill, and hope you are now much better.  :)

I don't know what went wrong with my supposed 'here is the St Peter at Arches' register, but here is image 21 with the burial of Charles Seely (right-hand side).
http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=519812&iid=418464

Thomas Squire(s) isn't in burial indexes 1813 + , so I looked through the St Mary le Wigford register and found this one in 1808. I read his age as 93; feel free to differ.  :)

eek! I've just checked my 'original' Lincoln deanery marriage index 1700-1837 published by the Lincolnshire FHS (the marriage indexes are currently being re-checked and issued with a lot more detail on CD, with several deaneries per CD so they are excellent value) and there's another Thomas Squire(s)s in Lincoln. Wouldn't you just know that he married an Elizabeth as well? Elizabeth Russell in 1780 in Lincoln St Martin.
(It's about time there was a law saying that people's birth year and place of baptism should be part of their name!  ;D)

And in case you still have to find it - the Robert Seely/Elizabeth Moore marriage in Burton-by-Lincoln.

Hi Pam
Thank you for the info now what a mess to be had  with Thomas and Elizabeth.

My Thomas (SON) maybe of Thomas and Elizabeth Seeley  born or Bap around 17 th Sept 1796 states he was born in Frieston Lincs in1841 census he married Sarah Lusby 06 Apr 1818 Great Grimsby in 1851 census he is down as born Preston Lancs.I think the enumerator might have had a bit of trouble with accent here.
This Thomas was a Freeman of Grimsby. I have been told by a distant rellie that he seemed to think his Father was Thomas Squire and Elizabeth Seely?
I did see those records you found for me thankyou for that
I have found a William Squire born Frieston 1798 which I think might be a brother to Thomas 1796?
Even to this day the Squire family are very confusing .
Jacquie

If using the Lincs to the Past site, it is well worth downloading and reading the PDF of searching instructions, also in my experience the site works best with Internet Explorer.

... states he was born in Frieston Lincs in1841 census  ...

I doubt it - no birthplaces in 1841, ;)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
