Marriage record Nichol Forest Thomas Steel and Eleanor Turnbal 1776

I was wondering if someone could have a look at the marriage record of Thomas Steel and Eleanor Turnbal, dated 26th June 1776, Nichol Forest Cumberland.

I am trying to find Thomas's father, possible a John Steel.

Fathers names were not shown on marriages prior to 1.7.1837

The record does however give a birth date for Thomas, I have been trying to match this record with a possible baptism, but with no success

here is a transcription of the marriage at Nicholforest.  The form in use in 1776 did not allow for the recording of the name of the father.  It reads

No. 87

June 27   Thomas Steel of the Parish of Broomfield, Batchelor, aged 26, and Eleanor Turnbul of this Chapelry, spinster, aged 22, were married in this chapel by Banns, the twenty seventh day of June one thousand seven hundred and seventy six.

I presume Broomfield is actually Bromfield, about four miles west of Wigton.
