Bridget Devanney / John Lang
« on: Monday 09 July 12 12:37 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have a John and Bridget Lang on my tree. The 1851 English Census shows then arriving in England from Sligo around 1847 (from the dates and birth places of their children. The birth certificate for one of their English born children gives the mothers maiden name as Devanney.

The ages of John and Bridget vary enormously across the census's but average around 1816.

If anyone can help shed any light on their history in Ireland I would to hear from you.

Many thanks,

Darren

Hello,

John and Bridget's births were much before civil registation - 1864. You would really need a townland or at least a parish to find any family members.

You may find some help here:

Thanks,

Unfortunately, all I have from the census returns is Sligo and as I said the age varies a lot from census to census.

Methinks this is a brickwall.

Reagrds,

Darren
